What Foods Promote Bladder And Kidney Health?

Sometimes a more natural approach to better health is the best approach. Too often do we avoid taking proper care of our health, only to turn to a healthier lifestyle when things go awry.

Detoxifying both the kidneys and the bladder are important for your overall health.  If your liver is overloaded with toxins, the toxins go into the bloodstream, which can cause irritation to the whole urinary tract system, putting it at a much higher risk for infection.

Nearly 37 million people in the United States are diagnosed with some type of kidney disease each year

Your kidneys are in charge of regulating the makeup of your blood and keeping concentrations of ions and acidity/alkalinity consistent. They also keep the volume of water in your body constant. Additionally, your kidneys remove waste from your body, such as ammonia, urea along with other toxins.Your kidneys help with your blood pressure and keep your body’s calcium levels sufficient.

The amount of water you take in each day is extremely important to your kidney and overall health.
When you urinate throughout the day, you lose 1 to 2 liters of water total throughout the day.
That’s why it’s so important that you drink enough water, in order to ensure that you’re replacing/replenishing the water you are urinating out.

Eating a diet full of vegetables and fruits is very beneficial to your kidney and your bladder health.
Vegetables and fruits are packed full of water and vitamins.  Avoid drinking tea and coffee as these beverages cause the body to lose more water.

Many herbs can help detoxify the liver and kidneys.
Herbs that are particularly helpful are parsley leaf, horsetail herb, cornsilk, and dandelion.
